December 2022 Minutes

Baker Chamber of Commerce General Meeting Minutes - December 1, 2022, OS Brew Pub, 5:15 p.m.

Members present: Jade Boggs, Tammy O’Donnell, Karol Zachmann, Alissa Miller, Kassidee Downing, James Parks, Linda Howard, Staci Knuths.

Trish Barth & Steve Zachmann joined following the meeting

President Alissa Miller called the meeting to order.

James moved to approve November minutes and Tammy seconded. All in favor. Minutes approved

Executive Director Report: Melissa is out with a ruptured appendix so there was no director’s report. She has a follow up appointment Monday so we will know more about when she can return to work after that.

Rec Director Report:

Basketball and Preschool Arts and Crafts are in session right now.

OLD BUSINESS:

Christmas Stroll goodie bags will be stuffed Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Fire Hall. The Christmas Stroll is Dec. 8. There will be a soup and bread supper at Thee Garage from 5-7. Light Parade is at 7 p.m. Line up at the Hospital parking lot at 6:45.

Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt - There have been no entries received yet. Karol will have the forms at Thee Garage at the soup supper for people to pick up.

Baker Date Night Book - The book is completed and 30 copies have been ordered. They feature local businesses. They will be here between Dec. 6 & 8. and pre-order price is $25.00.

Rec Dept. Committee - Kassidee reported that MidRivers donated 50 size 3 soccer balls and 50 size 4 balls. Kassidee presented Staci Knuths of MidRivers with her photo for the donation.

Leslie Bohle of Bohle Images donated photos of the soccer players for sponsors.

Kassidee is working on a wish list for the Rec. Dept. Will get a 2023 event calendar set in January.

The Baker Jam Youth Basketball Tournament will be April 1 & 2.

Member Reports:

Discussed Mayor Steve Zachmann’s request for businesses to collaborate on a plan for snow removal around downtown.

James moved to adjourn the meeting. Jade seconded. All in favor. Meeting adjourned.

A Christmas Party followed the meeting with a Taco Bar, gift exchange and games.

Next meeting is Thursday, January 5 at noon at Thee Garage.
